Wellbeing and SFH in the Adults in Scouting Framework
Supporting adults in Scouting means more than preparing them for their roles, it also means ensuring they feel safe, valued, heard and supported throughout their volunteering journey. This report explores how wellbeing and Safe from Harm can be more clearly embedded within the Adults in Scouting framework and organisational practice. Drawing on benchmarking, consultation and diagnostic work, it identifies current strengths, key gaps and areas where greater consistency and organisational responsibility are needed. It provides governance bodies, policy teams and technical stakeholders with practical directions to strengthen policy, guidance, implementation and follow-up mechanisms. Developed within WOSM’s Training and Supporting Adults in Scouting project, the report contributes to building a more supportive, protective and sustainable environment for adult volunteers across the Scout Movement.
