Following joint decisions taken at the first European Scout and Guide Conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1974, Ireland will host the parallel and joint Conferences this year.
The 6th European Scout Conference, held at Baden bei Wien on August 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th, 1970, was held at the Congresshouse by invitation of the Pfadfinder Desterreichs.
By invitation of the Federation des Eclaireurs Suisses, the 5th European Scout Conference was held in Switzerland,
September 27th-29th, 1968. The main sessions were held at the Swiss Agricultural Technical College, Bern-Zollikofen.
At the invitation of the (British) Boy Scouts Association, the Second European Boy Scouts Conference was held in England from September 21st to September 24th, 1962.
The Xth European Scout Conference met at Lancaster, United Kingdom, at the invitation of the Scout Association of the United Kingdom, within the framework of the Joint and Guide Conference, 6-12 July 1980. The Conference gathered delegates from the 24 countries of the Region.
The 8th European Guide and Scout Conference took place in Salzburg, Austria, from 1- 6 April 1995, hosted by Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Österreichs.
The 16th European Scout Conference took place in Luxembourg from 2-7 May 1998, hosted by the Luxembourg Boy Scouts Association.
