The Adult Life Cycle as a Guide for Identifying Elements of Mental Health and Well-being in Adults in Scouting
"Supporting adult well-being is a responsibility that extends throughout the entire volunteering journey in Scouting.
This report uses the Adult Life Cycle to explore how mental health and well-being can be strengthened from recruitment and induction through training, ongoing support, performance review and future transitions. It highlights existing strengths within Adults in Scouting and Safe from Harm, while identifying gaps in areas such as psychological safety, workload, psychosocial support and healthy transitions. By bringing together existing policies, frameworks and educational resources, the report shows how well-being can move from an implicit outcome of good adult management to a more deliberate organisational commitment. It offers a practical foundation for creating Scout environments where adults can contribute with purpose while feeling safe, supported, valued and able to sustain their involvement over time."
