Scouts in Humanitarian Response for Ukraine

Since the early days of the war in Ukraine, young people in Scouting mobilised immediately and volunteered around the clock. This helped ensure that Ukrainian families had access to basic necessities such as food, water, shelter, clothes, and protection after fleeing the war. This was especially apparent in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Lithuania, Czechia, Latvia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.

Under a regional partnership with UNICEF, "UAct: Scouts in Humanitarian Response for Ukraine”, these nine National Scout Organizations humanitarian activities ranged from providing relief at borders and refugee centres to psychosocial first aid and integration into summer camps, local Scout groups, and host communities.

National Organizations

The UAct project is being implemented across nine Member Organizations through a regional collaboration between the European Scout Region and the Eurasia Scout Region. Each Member Organization has tailored their humanitarian activities and intervention according to their national context, NSO capacity, and refugee/IDP situation. Therefore, the humanitarian response and main areas of focus differ among the nine Member Organizations:
